Deborah J. Smart is a highly driven management consulting professional serving as CEO and President of Smart 1 Management Solutions, LLC. With a robust professional background and outstanding ability to connect the details to the bigger picture, she has provided fundamental business and management consulting services through this woman-owned organization to clients ranging from nonprofits and small businesses to governments at local, state and federal levels.

In her work, Ms. Smart draws on her strengths in a variety of areas: conducting analysis, building proposed solutions to support corporate decision making, and developing organizational management processes and corresponding reporting framework, and facilitating stakeholder engagement to build confidence in large-scale programs.

Ms. Smart is a retired government executive, having worked for 39 years at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), an agency under the Department of Transportation. During her extensive tenure at the FAA, she worked in a variety of roles spanning multiple levels of expertise and leadership ultimately retiring as a very successful Senior Executive.

Within her local community, Ms. Smart is active in several leadership roles for organizations like the DC SCORE Association, the Pathways in Technology Early College High School Program (P-Tech), P.I.T.S. Sports, and Proposition Enrichment for the Next Generation. She is particularly passionate about providing mentorship to college-bound students and burgeoning entrepreneurs.
