Responsibilities

Assist the HR Manager in leading the organization’s HR programs and policies by performing various tasks, including but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, compensation, performance management, and training development, facilitation, and/or coordination.

  • Assist with recruitment efforts, including writing and revising position descriptions, posting job announcements, scheduling, and conducting job interviews
  • Develop, analyze and update Smart1’s performance evaluation program
  • Develop, revise, and recommend personnel policies and procedures
  • Monitor daily timecard input, ensuring PTO or other absences are documented and tracked in ADP
  • Develop and maintain HR standard operating procedures (SOP) for office
  • Conduct new employee orientation and employee relations counseling
  • Conduct background and reference checks, as needed
  • Participate in staff meetings, HR, Business Development, and other weekly meetings
  • Maintain Smart1 directory and organizational chart
  • Maintain the resume repository of potential candidates
  • Monitor daily timecard input, ensuring PTO or other absences are documented and PTO hours are tracked in the ADP system
  • Maintain and update employee records
  • Complete termination paperwork and conduct exit interviews
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, preferred but not required
  • 3+ years of HR experience
  • 2+ years of ADP run payroll experience, preferred
  • Working knowledge of fundamental HR principles, practices, and appropriate employment laws such as FMLA, ADA, EEOC, etc.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, both written and orally
  • Must be able to read and interpret information effectively
  • Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities to use time efficiently
  • Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality
