U.S. Department of Transportation Office of Planning and Analytics Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA)

Smart1 Management provided a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Senior Program Analyst personnel, who assisted the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) Office of Planning and Analytics (OPA) Associate Administrator (AA) in the duties deemed necessary in establishing the OPA as the cross functional lead to PHMSA headquarters and field personnel, modal administrations, and industry partners.   In the performance of assisting the AA with the Cross Functional Team (CFT) introduction, Smart1 was responsible for:

  • Establishing priorities within the project
  • Establishing timelines for each activity of the project
  • Development of a communication plan/strategy
  • Advise the AA of OPA on industry best industry practices to include concepts and procedures
  • Conducting analysis communication channels used, timeline documentations and justifications, correspondence workflow methodology and the overall Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) processes and practices.
  • Working with the applicable administrator (i.e. SharePoint administrator, Web designer, IT Manager, etc.) to develop the web-based tool in accordance with the flow charts and SOPs.
  • Reconciling weekly the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), General Accounting Office (GAO) and Office of Inspector General (OIG) mandates
